BBC-Sublabel für fremdsprachige Schallplatten.
Dies war ab den frühen 1960er Jahren das erste BBC-Label, das der Öffentlichkeit zum Kauf angeboten wurde. Zunächst einmal konnte man diese nur direkt bei der BBC erwerben. Es wurden Sendungen ausgestrahlt, bei denen die Hörer die Sendung im Radio verfolgen konnten (normalerweise Trainingssendungen in Fremdsprachen) und dann die Schallplatte und ein separates Begleitbuch kaufen konnten. Diese könnten anschließend aufbewahrt werden, um mit dem Heimlernen fortzufahren.
Später wurden die Sendungen auch für das Fernsehen aufgezeichnet und die Schallplatten sowie die Bücher waren in den Läden immer häufiger erhältlich. |
