| The Purple Helmets waren ein Nebenprojekt und spielten Garage- und R&B-Songs der 60er Jahre. In der Besetzung waren: JJ Burnel, Dave Greenfield (beide Stranglers), John Ellis (damals ein Vibrator, würde aber ein zukünftiger Strangler sein), Alex Gifford (Mitglied der Stranglers-Bläsersektion) und Manny Elias (Schlagzeuger bei Tränen aus Angst). Die Band wurde angeblich zusammengestellt, damit JJ und Dave zwischen den Stranglers-Projekten ein paar Auftritte machen konnten. |
