The series of Bond films spans over two decades, beginning in 1962 with 'Dr No'. Over the years there has been a number of changes in the Bond set up. The first of these was when Sean Connery quit the role in 1971 after 'Diamonds Are Forever'. The lead part then went briefly to George Lazenby who starred as Bond in 'On her Majesty's Secret Service'. This was his only performance in the coveted role before Roger Moore came on the scene in 1973 in the film 'Live and Let Die'. Today Moore still plays the part of Bond but now has had to contend with a return to the lead by Sean Connery when he played Bond in @Never Say Never Again' which was released as a rival to the Roger Moore film of the time 'Octopussy'.
This album of theme tunes features the original artists in a selection of tunes and songs from the James Bond films between 1962 and 1977. |

Deze BBC Radioplay Music-schijven zijn heruitgaven van nummers die zijn uitgebracht in de originele TAIR-bibliotheek. BBC Radioplay LP's en CD's werden uitsluitend geproduceerd voor uitzending door BBC-radiostations en bevatten opnames die vrij waren van auteursrechten, met nummers opgenomen door de BBC (of partnerorganisaties in Europa, de VS, enz.). Voor de vinyl-LP's hadden de hoezen meestal precies hetzelfde ontwerp, met een foto van de artiest in de hoofdrol & titel is het enige verschil. Op de achterkant van de hoes staan de titel, het tempo, het intro, de duur, het einde, de componist, de uitgever en de flaptekst met betrekking tot het nummer (zodat de presentator goed geïnformeerd overkomt!) BBC Radioplay LP's hebben een aantal unieke opnames, en omdat ze meestal werden geperst door bedrijven als Nimbus en waren voor uitzending, de kwaliteit van de productie en het drukken is doorgaans erg hoog. |
