| Portishead ist eine englische Band, die 1991 in Bristol gegründet wurde. Sie gelten oft als einer der Pioniere der Trip-Hop-Musik. Die Band ist nach der gleichnamigen nahegelegenen Stadt benannt, die acht Meilen westlich von Bristol an der Küste liegt. Portishead besteht aus Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons und Adrian Utley, wobei manchmal ein viertes Mitglied zitiert wird, Dave McDonald, ein Ingenieur auf ihren ersten Platten.
