| In some ways this story had the makings of a good story, but I think it really has not aged with time well. Maybe it is the special effects, or making the acting - I am not sure. |

| LaserDisc (abgekürzt als LD) ist ein Heimvideoformat und das erste kommerzielle optische Disc-Speichermedium, das ursprünglich 1978 in den Vereinigten Staaten als MCA DiscoVision lizenziert, verkauft und vermarktet wurde. Obwohl das Format in der Lage war, Video und Audio in höherer Qualität anzubieten als Seine Konkurrenten VHS und Betamax-Videoband, LaserDisc, konnten sich in Nordamerika nie durchsetzen, vor allem aufgrund der hohen Kosten für die Player und Videotitel selbst und der Unfähigkeit, Fernsehprogramme aufzuzeichnen, obwohl es in dieser Region schließlich doch etwas Anklang fand in den 1990er Jahren einigermaßen populär zu werden. Die Technologien und Konzepte hinter LaserDisc bildeten die Grundlage für spätere optische Disc-Formate, darunter Compact Disc (CD), DVD und Blu-ray (BD). |
