| Hugh Alan Cornwell (* 28. August 1949) ist ein englischer Musiker und Singer-Songwriter, der vor allem als Sänger und Gitarrist der Punkrock-/New-Wave-Band The Stranglers von 1974 bis 1990 bekannt wurde. Nach seinem Ausscheiden aus der Cornwell arbeitete mit Roger Cook und Andy West als CCW zusammen. Ihr selbstbetiteltes Album wurde 1992 veröffentlicht. Cornwell hat mehrere Soloalben veröffentlicht, darunter Wolf (1988), Wired (1993), Guilty (1997), Hi Fi (2000), Footprints in the Desert (2002) und Mayday (2002). In the Dock (2003) und Beyond Elysian Fields (2004). Im Jahr 2006 erschien ein Live-Album in zwei Formen: „People Places Pieces“, eine dreifache CD-Box, begleitet von einer gleichzeitig für den Massenmarkt erhältlichen Highlights-CD „Dirty Dozen“. Die 12-Track-Highlights-CD „Live It and Breathe It“ wurde 2005 vor dem Boxset veröffentlicht. Im Juni 2008 trat Cornwell in die Fußstapfen von Radiohead und Nine Inch Nails und bot sein neues Album Hooverdam als kostenlosen Download auf seiner Website an. In den 2010er Jahren veröffentlichte er die Soloplatten Totem und Taboo and Monster und tourt weiterhin als Teil seiner dreiköpfigen Soloband. | ||
