| Orchestral Maneuvers In The Dark (comunemente noto come OMD) è un gruppo elettronico inglese formatosi a Wirral, Merseyside, nel 1978 con Paul Humphreys (sintetizzatori) e Andy McCluskey (voce e basso). Le prime incarnazioni della loro band includevano "VCL XI" e "Hitlerz Underpantz". Suonarono il loro primo concerto nel 1978 all'Eric's (Liverpool), poi ebbero una serie di successi nelle classifiche del Regno Unito dopo aver cambiato etichetta dalla Factory all'etichetta di proprietà della Virgin DinDisc a partire dall'uscita del 1980 Messages. Nel 1980, il batterista Malcolm Holmes e Dave Hughes ai sintetizzatori passarono da musicisti ospiti / dal vivo a membri a pieno titolo della band. | ||
